CEEDS 2011 - 2012 Forum Series - Cambridge Higher Education Forum (ChiEF) 

In order to promote the higher educational communication between UK and China, CEEDS is delighted to present you the 2011-2012 Cambridge Higher Education Forum (ChiEF). During this forum guests from Universities or Higher Educational/Research Institutions in China will be invited to visit Cambridge and communicate with Cambridge Students. Students will have opportunities to communicate with these delegates via a series of events to get information and career opportunities in higher education in China.

Event One – Lunch session discussion with Shenyang University delegates, 16th November, Wednesday

As a warm up event, we are delighted to have delegates from Shenyang University to visit Cambridge on Nov 16th Wednesday. You are kindly invited to come and talk to these delegates over a casual lunch-session discussion (with FREE lunch provided). They are specifically interested to talk to students or scholars intending to go back to Shenyang and work for Shenyang University, people with general interest are also welcome.

Event Two– Presentation by Prof. Zhangjie, Principal of Shanghai Jiaotong University, 26th November, Saturday

CEEDS is delighted to present you the first presentation for our 2011-2012 Cambridge Higher Education Forum (ChiEF) - Prof. and President ZHANG Jie from Shanghai Jiaotong University. In this presentation, Prof. Zhang will discuss the recent development of the economy, society and higher education in China, with focus on the short/long term strategy and recruitment policy of Shanghai Jiaotong University.

Shanghai Jiaotong University is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in China. In recent years, the university sets out detailed strategies in recruiting researchers and scientists overseas, and has successfully recruited 24 "Thousand Talents Scheme" participants during the last two years. The university has also paid particular attention to communication with organisations abroad. The newly founded "Shanghai Jiaotong University Alumni Association in UK" represents a significant achievement of their effort.

CEEDS Higher Education Forum (CHiEF) 2011-2012: Presentation from President ZHANG Jie of Shanghai Jiaotong University

The opening of CHiEF (CEED Higher Education Forum) 2011-2012 has been formally announced on November 27th in Newnham College of Cambridge University. CEEDS was greatly pleased to have President ZHANG Jie of Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU) as its kickoff speaker. Right after a long flight journey from China, President Zhang arrived at Newnham College and delivered a talk to Cambridge students and scholars on the recent development of higher education in China and SJTU in particular. More information
